Azerbaijan Announces Extension of Quarantine Measures
The authorities of Azerbaijan have extended the special quarantine regime in the country until September 1. The corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov on Thursday.
"In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection and its possible consequences, the duration of the special quarantine regime in the Republic of Azerbaijan has been extended until 06:00 AM on September 1, 2021," the document published on the government website states.
Previously, the special quarantine regime was set to last until August 1. As of July 22, 2021, Azerbaijan registered a total of 339,062 cases of COVID-19. In the past 24 hours, the number of infections has increased by 225.
