8.9 Billion AMD Allocated for Road Rehabilitation

The government, during its meeting on July 22, decided to make changes to the 2021 budget proposal and allocated 8.9 billion AMD from the funds designated for the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure to rehabilitate 50.7 km of roads.

Of these roads, 44.9 km are of interstate significance, 1.7 km are of national significance, and 4.15 km are of regional significance. The interstate roads to be rehabilitated include the Yerevan-Yeraskh-Goris-Meghri-Iran border highway, the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan-Azerbaijan border highway, and the Sevan-Marduni-Getap highway, as well as the road to Khor Virap, a section of the Artik-Anushavan-Panik highway, among others.

“Overall, road construction is an important direction for us. I want to emphasize that we have achieved an interim goal here – we are talking about the quality of roads. We have visible progress in the quality of roads, but we have not yet reached the objective that we discussed in 2018. We are aiming for a completely new standard in road quality,” said Prime Minister Pashinyan.
