Two Individuals Detained on Suspicion of Drug Possession and Use

On July 16, officers from the Jermuk Police Department detained two residents—29-year-old from Aygezat of the Ararat Province and a 27-year-old from Artashat—on suspicion of illegal drug possession and use. The individuals were discovered at the beginning of the road leading to the village of Kechut and were taken to the police station along with their vehicle.

During the detention, the 29-year-old man threw away two smoking pipes from his pocket. A search of the roadside land revealed the pipes, with ash and dark brown cannabis-like residues on their walls. According to the 29-year-old, the pipes belonged to him, one being filled with cannabis material while the other had been used for smoking drugs. An examination has been ordered, and materials are being prepared.
