Azerbaijan Will Continue Its Aggressive Behavior Until Clear Message Is Received: Menendez

The Chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Robert Menendez, expressed his concerns during the confirmation hearings for Karen Donfried’s nomination as Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia, regarding President Joe Biden’s administration's decision to waive the 907th amendment of the Freedom Support Act. This was reported by the Armenian National Committee of America.

"Azerbaijan has now invaded the physical territory of Armenia due to a border dispute, and I believe they will continue their aggressive behavior until they receive a clear message that it is unacceptable," stated Menendez.

In response to this remark, Donfried announced that if the information is confirmed, she would closely cooperate with Menendez and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on this issue. "It is critically important to ensure that any support we provide to Azerbaijan does not in any way undermine the balance of power, and that we are committed to the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh [issue]," Donfried said.
