Range Rover Crashes into Citizen's Garage, Young Driver Banned from Driving for 1 Year
According to the decision of Grigor Avetisyan, head of the traffic accidents investigation and administrative proceedings department of the Patrol Service of the Police of the Republic of Armenia, during the preparation of materials by Senior Investigator Aramazd Harutyunyan, it was revealed that on July 28, 23-year-old Manvel Mikaelyan, a resident of Yerevan, crashed a Range Rover vehicle into garage number 0400 at 32/1 Moldovakan Street while in a state of intoxication. The owner of the parked Opel vehicle that was damaged in the incident was identified as 40-year-old Harutyun Yeghiyan, also a resident of the same street.
As reported by shamshyan.com, it was determined that M. Mikaelyan was intoxicated to such a degree that he will be deprived of his right to drive for one year. After receiving medical assistance for head injuries and having a bandage applied, he refused to stay in the hospital and returned to the accident scene, although he did not dare to approach and see how rescuers, road police, and citizens were removing the remnants of his 'cooked sandal' (which is a reference to the car's damage).
Furthermore, a photo journalist earlier reported that on July 18, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 08:10, Manvel Mikaelyan, driving a Range Rover with Georgian plates RE 777 NG, crashed into a metal garage belonging to a resident at the intersection of Moldovakan and Nelson Stepanyan Streets (known to the public as the tax office) in the Nor Nork administrative district under still unknown circumstances. As a result of the accident, one person was taken to the Surb Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center. Citizens were the first to provide assistance to the injured, and the ambulance team was quickly on the scene.
Patrol officers from the Yerevan police station promptly arrived on the scene, and the traffic accidents investigation and administrative proceedings department was informed, from where an investigative group headed by Senior Investigator Aramazd Harutyunyan arrived. Following the incident, materials are being prepared regarding the case. According to G. Shamshyan, the driver underwent sobriety testing, and it was established that he was indeed under the influence (drunk).
The photo journalist noted that an Opel vehicle was parked in the garage, which, along with the garage itself, sustained material damage.
