The Investigative Committee of Russia has released a video from the home of Alexey Safonov, the arrested head of the traffic police department in the Stavropol region. This was reported by the RIA Novosti news agency.

The footage showcases several room interiors, gilded items, large amounts of cash, and two expensive foreign vehicles parked in front of the villa.

According to the investigation, the police chief led a criminal group whose members provided fraudulent documents to those transporting grains and inert materials in the Stavropol region, allowing them to illegally transport goods.

Overall, the members of the organized crime group received more than 19 million rubles for their services.

A criminal case has been initiated for accepting a bribe on a particularly large scale. Safonov and six members of the group, including two police officers and four civilians, have been detained. The investigation has requested the detention of the accused.
