Lake Sevan Level Drops in the Last Week

The water level of Lake Sevan decreased by 1 cm from July 12 to 18, reaching 1900.75 m (as of July 18, 2021). This figure is 4 cm lower than the same day last year, while it is 23 cm higher than the level recorded on January 1, 2021. This information was reported by the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center (HMC) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

During the period from July 12 to 18, a total of 12.175 million cubic meters of water was drawn from Lake Sevan for irrigation purposes, with the total water extraction from May 25 to July 18 amounting to 119.182 million cubic meters.

In the same timeframe, the amount of water transferred to Lake Sevan through the Arpa-Sevan canal was 1.675 million cubic meters, while from January 1 to July 18, 2021, the total was 129.686 million cubic meters.
