Knife Attack Against Mali's President

The transitional president of Mali, Assimi Goita, has been the target of an armed attack. This was reported by AFP on July 20, according to Armenpress.

According to the agency's information, two unidentified individuals attempted to stab him after a prayer that took place at the Great Mosque of Bamako in the capital, in celebration of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.

It is noted that Goita, "apparently, was not harmed" and was evacuated from the scene of the incident.
