GTC Remains Silent on Bribery Case

The National Security Service (NSS) issued a statement regarding an employee of the Assessment and Testing Center of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MoESCS), who allegedly provided answers to exam questions in exchange for a bribe of 5,000 USD. According to the statement, L. A., a chief specialist at the center and a public official responsible for developing the English language unified exam tests for university admissions in 2021, violated the confidentiality of the test content by providing advance answers to A. H., an exam participant, through an illegal act. Furthermore, he demanded a bribe equivalent to 2,496,900 AMD in exchange for ensuring a high score on the exam from the participant's mother, N. H., on June 26.

The mother accepted the bribe offer, transferring the funds to the public official before the exam in return for the test answers.

In an interview with Aravot.am, Khachnush Grigoryan, the press secretary of the Assessment and Testing Center, stated that the center refrains from making comments at this time. "As long as the legal process is ongoing, there’s no point in commenting on anything. This pertains to a long-term employee of the GTC. We believe that the investigation will clarify everything," Grigoryan said. The investigation is being conducted by the investigative department of the NSS.
