Fights in Yeraskh Can Escalate into a New and Full-Scale War Against Armenia - Varoujan Geghamyan

Azerbaijani expert Varoujan Geghamyan has posted on his Telegram channel regarding the events unfolding in Yeraskh.

"The fights in Yeraskh are capable of transforming into a new and full-scale war against Armenia. Yeraskh is not an accidental location; it is one of Armenia's most strategically significant points in many respects. The force that controls this area can dictate not only in the direction of Nakhchivan but throughout the entire South Caucasus. It is not a coincidence that our first self-defense battles in 1990 took place precisely in this direction and were crowned with success.

Both during the first years of the war and today, attacks towards Yeraskh are impossible without Turkey's active participation and leadership. This territory is a target for Turkey as a primary direction of its expansionism in the region, stretching from Iran to Georgia and Central Asia. Therefore, it is impossible to think that Azerbaijan's attempts to attack in the direction of Yeraskh are merely Azerbaijan's initiative.

This threatening situation would not exist if at least after the disgraceful capitulation of November 9, the leadership of Armenia had invested time and effort into uniting its resources with the countries opposing Turkey's expansionist projects, becoming a member of the anti-Turkish coalition in the region. This would have allowed for a comprehensive effort to resist new Turkish aggression, and today’s attack on Yeraskh might have been avoided.

Instead, Armenia's capitulatory and de facto pro-Turkish government threatens and continues to threaten its own citizens rather than the enemy.

Nonetheless, time is running out to become a member of the anti-Turkish coalition, just as our resources for resistance are depleting.
