Cyclone Moves from Germany to Austria, Several Regions Under Water

The 'Bernd' cyclone has moved from Germany to Austria, reports 'Kurier'. Several regions of the country are submerged due to heavy rainfall.

The Kotbach River has overflowed its banks, causing significant damage to the city of Hallein in the Salzburg federal state. Mayor Alexander Stangassinger has announced that residents should evacuate the disaster area.

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz has promised to provide assistance to those affected by the flooding. So far, there are no reports of injured or missing persons.

It is noteworthy that the flooding in Western Europe these days has become the largest in the last 20 years, affecting certain regions of Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
