Attempted Murder of 37-Year-Old Man from Sardarapat Village Under Investigation
On July 19, 2021, at 00:25, a report was received from a medical center indicating that a citizen had sought medical assistance due to a gunshot wound to the right side of the chest, with a diagnosis of right-sided hemothorax, as reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
Following the incident, a criminal case was initiated under parts 1 of Article 34-104 and Article 235 of the RA Criminal Code, which has been forwarded to the Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia for further investigation.
It was established that the injured citizen is a resident of Sardarapat village, born in 1984. An investigation is underway.
Necessary investigative and other procedural actions are being taken, along with operational investigative measures to clarify all circumstances surrounding the gunshot injury, identify the crime scene, locate the firearm used in the crime, and to detect and present the person or persons suspected of committing the crime to the prosecuting authority. A directive has been issued to the investigative body.
Notification: A suspect or accused in a presumed crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, and a court decision that has entered into legal force.
