SPORT: Haik Martirosyan Defeats Azerbaijani Shakhriyar Mamedyarov

21-year-old grandmaster Haik Martirosyan achieved victory over Azerbaijan's Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, who is ranked 6th by FIDE, in the first round of the FIDE World Cup 1/32 knockout stage.

“Martirosyan 1 - 0 Mamedyarov. In the first game of the third round of the World Cup, Haik Martirosyan celebrated a victory against Azerbaijan's top chess player Shakhriyar Mamedyarov,” the Armenian Chess Federation mentioned on its Facebook page.
