First Coronavirus Cases Confirmed Among Athletes in Tokyo Olympic Village
Three athletes scheduled to participate in the Tokyo Olympic Games have tested positive for coronavirus on July 18. Two of them are residing in the Olympic Village. This was reported in a statement from the organizers of the Games, as reported by Dami – Дождь.
This incident marks the first such cases among athletes. Additionally, it was confirmed on July 18 that six workers involved in organizing the Games and one journalist have also contracted the virus. The names of the infected individuals have not been disclosed.
It is noteworthy that the Olympic Games are set to begin on July 23. Since the beginning of July, a total of 55 individuals linked to the Olympic Games have tested positive for coronavirus.
