Who Are the 'Masters' of Systematic Illegal Construction in Ajapnyak: Hakob Karapetyan
Yerevan City Hall spokesperson Hakob Karapetyan wrote on his Facebook page: "FIP - the Fact-Checking Platform conducted a survey to determine why the city hall does not dismantle illegal structures as quickly in some cases as it does in others. We have demonstrated this on a single example of how it typically happens.
Recently, someone illegally constructed a structure on the BUS STOP in Ajapnyak. The mayor decided to demolish the structure. The developer who acted illegally immediately appealed the mayor’s decision to the court, and the court, represented by Judge Gevorg Sosyan, accepted the case for review IMMEDIATELY AND ON THE SAME DAY effectively prohibiting the city hall from demolishing the illegal structure as a measure of securing the claim.
Afterward, the city hall filed a motion to lift the measure of securing the claim, in other words, to allow the demolition. The court considered the city hall’s motion, note, 15 DAYS LATER, and still has not issued a decision; at least, we have not been informed about it. Thus, in one case, they accept the case at lightning speed and impose a ban on the demolition decision, while in another case, they drag it out for weeks.
I leave the conclusions to you. By the way, journalists can conduct an investigation and find out who the 'masters' of systematic illegal construction in Ajapnyak are, and what prominent former officials and semi-criminal elements are backing them,” Hakob Karapetyan stated.
