Man Arrested on Suspicion of Committing Immoral Acts Against 12-Year-Old Girl

On June 12, 2021, a resident of Syunik province reported that an unknown individual, during the period from June 11 to June 12, 2021, had contacted his 12-year-old daughter through the "TikTok" social network. The suspect allegedly filmed her in a semi-nude state and demanded money from her under the threat of publishing the footage.

The law enforcement agencies, based on the report, initiated preparations to gather materials, resulting in the identification of various circumstances surrounding the incident, including the identity of the suspect.

It was revealed that a 32-year-old man had committed immoral acts against a girl born on January 26, 2009, using electronic communication networks within the period from June 11 to June 12, 2021. Specifically, hiding his actual information and purpose, the man used a registered account on the "TikTok" social network to deceitfully demand that the girl undress and perform actions with her underage brother, all while filming and photographing. The child complied with his requests, after which she sent her semi-nude photos and recordings to the man via "Instagram" and "Viber."

Subsequently, under the threat of publishing damaging information about the child, the man demanded money from her father, and to make his threats appear serious, he published the girl’s semi-nude photo on his "TikTok" account. After receiving the money, he deleted the post.

A criminal case has been initiated at the Kapan division of the RA Police under part 1 of Article 182 and parts 3, 4, and 6 of Article 142 of the RA Criminal Code, which has been forwarded to the Syunik regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee for further proceedings. The 12-year-old girl and her father have been recognized as victims and have been questioned.

As a result of investigative actions and operations conducted in cooperation with the staff of the Kapan division of the RA Police, the 32-year-old man was located and arrested on suspicion of extortion and committing immoral acts. The pre-investigation continues, and measures are being undertaken to ascertain all circumstances of the case and ensure a comprehensive and objective investigation.
