A 34-Year-Old Officer of the Ministry of Defense Crashes Opel, Overturns in Gegharkunik Province; 8 Injured

On July 16, a major traffic accident occurred in Gegharkunik Province. At around 19:50, Aren M., a 34-year-old resident of Vanadzor, lost control of his Opel Astra on the 8.6 km section of the Sevan-Martuni-Getap highway and overturned for unknown reasons.

According to shamshyan.com, following the crash, driver Aren M. and passengers, all residents of Vanadzor, including 31-year-old Tatev M., 7-year-old Eva M., 3-year-old Hayk M., 58-year-old Zarouhi M., 15-year-old Elena S., 11-year-old Hrachya S., and 32-year-old David M. were taken to the Sevan Medical Center with bodily injuries. First responders included citizens and the on-call medical team from Sevan hospital, who provided first aid to the injured before their transportation to the hospital.

Reports indicate that driver Aren M. serves in a military unit of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, and the injured are his family members.
