Reconstruction of the Tatev-Agvan-Kapan Road Underway
The Tatev-Agvan-Kapan road is undergoing reconstruction in the Syunik region. This information was shared by Suren Papikyan, the Acting Minister of Territorial Administration and Development of Armenia, who visited the construction site to familiarize himself with the ongoing works.
The Tatev-Agvan-Kapan road spans 43 kilometers and is divided into three sections. The reconstruction of the first section, which is 12.5 kilometers long, started last year and is currently in the asphalt laying phase. The completion of this work is expected this year. The contractor organization for this segment is 'Builder Construction' LLC.
The reconstruction of the second section, measuring 17.5 kilometers, began this summer and is being undertaken by 'Osmer' LLC.
In the third section, which stretches for 13 kilometers, the installation of the lower layer of asphalt has commenced. The contractor for this section is 'Karavan' LLC.
It is noted that the reconstruction of the Tatev-Agvan-Kapan road will provide Syunik with a strategically important roadway that bypasses the interstate highway.
Today, Papikyan also met with the acting head of the Meghri community, Ararat Tumanyan.
