Construction of Multi-Apartment Buildings with About 1200 Apartments in Stepanakert: President of Artsakh
In recent days, I signed a government decision approving the housing provision program for families of those recognized as deceased and missing as a result of the military actions unleashed against the Republic of Artsakh on September 27, 2020, as well as for those recognized with 1st group permanent disabilities and/or those who have become homeless. This is a fundamental document for regulating and organizing further work in this area. This was stated by the President of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, on his Facebook page.
“In order to provide the registered beneficiaries with residential space, the following works are being and will be carried out, among other measures, in the formation of the residential fund:
- Multi-apartment buildings are being constructed in Stepanakert, totaling about 1200 apartments.
- At least 20 new residential neighborhoods are being developed in rural areas of the Republic, which will include more than 2297 residential houses for displaced residents from over 36 communities. Foundations will be built for 1809 of these residential houses, while their construction will be carried out with light structures through various charitable programs.
- Approximately 1000 residential units will be purchased from the primary market and more than 500 from the secondary market in Stepanakert.
- About 70 apartments will be bought from the primary market and around 1000 units will be purchased and renovated from the secondary market in the districts of the Republic.
- The program will also ensure the improvement of the newly constructed residential areas, the construction or renovation of infrastructure, and the furnishing of residential spaces.
The financing of the program is carried out from the state budget of the Republic of Armenia, the state budget of the Republic of Artsakh, the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund, and other sources not prohibited by law. By the way, I will address the activities of the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund separately in the near future...
Through such programs, we will solve the housing needs of all our citizens in need of housing support. I would like to mention that the state housing programs that were in effect before the war are still in force, and the government continues to fulfill its obligations to the remaining beneficiary groups in parallel,” he wrote.
