Supreme Judicial Council Requests Interview Recording of Judge Davit Grigoryan; Hearing Postponed

The Supreme Judicial Council postponed the examination of the disciplinary responsibility of Judge Davit Grigoryan of the Yerevan First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction.

Acting Chairman of the Council, Gagik Jhangiryan, announced that the additional evidence presented must be provided to the initiating body, and requested the media to submit the recording of the interview.

The hearing has been postponed and rescheduled for July 26 at 15:00.

It is noteworthy that the party filing for the disciplinary action has based its claims on an interview published on the armdaily.am website on March 30 of this year.

“However, in this case, when Article 300.1 of the Criminal Code has been recognized as unconstitutional, it means that under these circumstances, there is no charge, and if there is no charge, talking about requalification is unnecessary,” the judge stated, referring to the Constitutional Court's decision to declare the alleged violation of the constitutional order in Article 300.1 of the Armenian Criminal Code unconstitutional.
