Court Returns Takoohi Tovmasyan's Lawsuit Against Lena Nazaryan

The lawsuit filed by MP Takoohi Tovmasyan against the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Lena Nazaryan, has been returned by the court. This information was reported by datalex.am.

It was noted that Tovmasyan lodged a statement on June 30 at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan City, demanding that Nazaryan publicly apologize for an offensive remark and pay compensation.

The court returned the application on the grounds that Tovmasyan did not fully pay the state duties. Specifically, she had submitted a non-property claim, for which she was required to pay a state duty of 4,000 drams, and a demand for the recovery of 1 million drams, which required a state duty of 20,000 drams. In total, the claimant was supposed to pay 24,000 drams in state duties, however, she only paid 8,000 drams.

At the same time, the court emphasizes that if the pointed deficiencies are rectified and the application is submitted again, it is necessary to resend a copy of the application and attached documents to the participant in the case, and to attach the evidence proving this fact to the re-submitted application. After receiving the decision, if the deficiencies in the application are rectified and it is resubmitted to the court within a three-day period, the application will be considered as submitted on the date it was originally submitted to the first instance court.

The lawsuit was assigned to Judge Sergey Sahakyan of the General Jurisdiction Court of Yerevan.

It should be reminded that on June 3, during Tovmasyan's speech in the National Assembly, Lena Nazaryan responded in a whisper with “idiotka.” Following this, Tovmasyan demanded an apology from her.
