College and Vocational School Admissions Begin
The admission process for colleges and vocational schools in Armenia has officially started, following the decree of Acting Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan. This decree outlines the available spots for acceptance into educational institutions offering intermediate vocational and preliminary vocational training programs for the year 2021, categorized by field of study.
Simultaneously, with the relevant orders issued by the acting minister, new criteria for several specialties will be piloted in various educational institutions starting September 1.
Below are the specialties that will be tested by educational institutions:
- “Installation and Operation of Drip Irrigation Systems”
The state educational standard for the qualification of “Technician for the Installation and Operation of Drip Irrigation Systems” will be piloted at the “Armavir Regional State College” and the “Masiss State Agricultural College” institutions. Admission competitive subjects include “Biology”, “Mathematics”, and “Armenian Language”. - “Robotics”
The state educational standard for the qualification of “Technician for Mobile Robots and Devices” will be piloted at the “Gyumri State Technical College” and the “State College of Informatics”. Admission competitive subjects are set as “Mathematics”, “Physics”, and “Armenian Language”. - “Technical Maintenance and Repair of Electric Transport”
The “National Polytechnic University of Armenia” will implement a program for the qualification of “Technician for Technical Maintenance and Repair of Electric Cars”. The admission competitive subjects include “Mathematics”, “Physics”, and “Armenian Language”. - “Organization of Agricultural (Farm) Economy”
The state educational standard for the qualification of “Organizer of Livestock Farming” will be piloted at the “Stepanavan State Agricultural College” and the “Tavush Regional State College”. Competitive subjects are “Biology”, “Mathematics”, and “Armenian Language”. - “Organization of Agricultural (Farm) Economy”
The state educational standard for the qualification of “Organizer of Plant Farming” will also be piloted at the “Armavir Regional State College” and the “Masiss State Agricultural College”. Competitive subjects will likewise include “Biology”, “Mathematics”, and “Armenian Language”.
For each of the aforementioned specialties, a total of 20 spots (10 paid and 10 free) have been allocated from reserve places. Admissions will be based on the average quality assessment of the final certificate, known as the MOG, along with the performance in the competitive subjects.
The “National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia” will also pilot the specialty “Implementation of Finishing Construction Works” under preliminary vocational educational programs for the academic year 2021-2022. This specialty will have 20 tuition-free places reserved for students based on their basic education. Admission competitive subjects will include “Mathematics”, “Geometry”, and “Armenian Language”.
Admissions to preliminary vocational and intermediate vocational educational institutions will be carried out in accordance with the procedures established by Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports on May 18, 2020. Admissions occur online through the website dimord.emis.am.
For those participating in the stationary learning competition, applications will be accepted electronically from the publication date of the admission announcement until August 15.
Documents for industry-related fields in arts, healthcare, and sports will be accepted from the publication date of the announcement until two days prior to the examination date set by the educational institution. Examinations will be held between August 5 and 15 by exam commissions according to the schedule approved by the director.
For the other specialties not requiring an examination, admission will be conducted based on the evaluations from the basic education certificate, secondary education diploma, and professional education diploma attachment.
