250 Thousand Drams: Parliament Approves Controversial Bill in Second Reading
The National Assembly has fully approved (71 in favor, 0 against, 0 abstentions) the bill authored by My Step faction members Viktor Yeghnibaryan and Nikol Baghdasaryan, which proposes amendments to the law on the remuneration of state officials and persons holding public service positions.
The bill aims to increase the monthly sum allocated for parliamentary expenses from 50,000 drams to 250,000 drams.
“Further discussions showed that the bill was appropriate. In Armenia, a value system should be formed where public servants rely solely on the state budget for their salaries, revenues, and expenses,” Yeghnibaryan stated.
