Yesterday's Uncontrolled Gunfire Incident Is Another Provocation by Azerbaijan: Zhirayr Azizyan

Armenian political scientist and participant of the April and recent Artsakh wars, Zhirayr Azizyan, wrote on his Facebook page:

“The incident of uncontrolled gunfire that was recorded yesterday in the Shushi-Ghaybalishen area is yet another provocation from the Azerbaijani side, aimed at the civilian population living in Artsakh. Since the trilateral agreement, there have been several instances of gunfire from territories that have effectively come under Azerbaijani control, which naturally has received significant public attention and raised concerns.

In reality, this is a specially crafted and very serious psychological weapon from Baku, directed against the Armenian people and the civilian population living in Artsakh. The goal is clear: by subjecting the population to psychological terror, to force them to leave their homeland. Azerbaijan has always aimed to ethnically cleanse Artsakh, and this is evidenced by the demographic picture of the Autonomous Region in the past. Nevertheless, we must not yield to provocations and, no matter how difficult it may be, we must stand firmly on our land at all costs.”
