VIDEO: Ophthalmologist Extorts Money from Parents of Child Twice Under State Order

The ophthalmologist of a medical clinic has been detained while receiving extorted money, as part of extensive measures taken by the National Security Service and the police. This was reported by the Police.

Specifically, it was revealed through undertaken actions that the ophthalmologist at the Kanaker-Zeytun Medical Center of Yerevan demanded an illegal payment of 250,000 AMD from a citizen for performing eye surgery on his minor son under the circumstance of an existing state order last August. After negotiations, he received 225,000 AMD in cash from the citizen.

Additionally, on July 7 of this year, the same ophthalmologist demanded another illegal payment of 280,000 AMD for a repeat surgery on the same child, again under the state order, threatening to refuse to perform the surgery otherwise.
