VIDEO: A 1-Year-Old Boy Brought from a Russian Orphanage to Armenia on a Moscow-Yerevan Flight and Handed Over to Grandmother's Care

On July 10, a service member of the police's specialized unit brought a 1-year-old boy from one of the orphanages in the Tula region of Russia to Armenia on a Moscow-Yerevan flight. This was reported by the Police of the Republic of Armenia.

On April 28, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had forwarded a letter from the Standing Committee on Human Rights Protection and Public Affairs of the National Assembly to the General Department for Public Security of the Police. The letter detailed that an ethnically Armenian toddler, whose mother passed away in January of this year and whose father is in custody, was in one of the orphanages in the Tula region of Russia.

With the cooperation of the General Department for the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency and Domestic Violence and the involved agencies, the necessary documents were obtained for the child's return.

On July 10, as part of the Moscow-Yerevan flight, the specialized unit member successfully brought the 1-year-old boy back to his homeland. The little one has been placed under the care of his grandmother.
