Three Employees of Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine Detained by NSS Special Forces: Hakobyan

Three employees of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine have been detained by the special forces of the National Security Service (NSS). One of those detained is a security staff member from the combine, while the identities of the other two are still unknown. This information was confirmed to Sputnik Armenia by Vahe Hakobyan, the Deputy Director General of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine and a member of the 'Hayastan' alliance.

“One of our security staff attempted to prevent the unlawful actions, raised his voice and said ‘Guys, what are you doing?’ They laid him on the ground, put handcuffs on him, and detained him, and interestingly, the detainee was their former colleague,” he stated.

Hakobyan added that he does not know the purpose of the special forces visiting the combine. He indicated that they brought some lists and are not allowing lawyers or the combine's legal representatives to approach the employees.

“The purpose remains unclear to us, as they do not provide any explanations. They have some lists of employees, and based on those lists, they are dragging our employees away to offices, searching them, and do not allow either legal representatives or lawyers to approach them,” Hakobyan noted.

It should be mentioned that videos have been circulating online since this morning, showing representatives of the NSS special unit 'Alpha' present at the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine's premises. They are prohibiting filming; however, short clips have surfaced online. One of the videos shows how special forces are detaining a security staff member of the combine.

Earlier, Vahe Hakobyan had stated that the Armenian authorities have not allowed the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine to export concentrate for over 12 days.
