Iran Legalizes Only Dating Service for Individuals
The Iranian authorities have introduced Hamdan, the only legal dating application in the country. Developed by the Islamic Propaganda Organization, this service will enable Iranian citizens to find life partners.
After completing all procedures and getting married, young couples will be under a consultant’s 'supervision' for four years.
In recent years, Iran has seen a rise in divorce rates; for instance, in 2008, there was only one divorce for every eight marriages, whereas by 2020, there were 307,000 marriages registered alongside almost 100,000 divorces.
Additionally, a decline in birth rates is observed across the country, with last year’s population growth dropping to 1.29 percent.
For Iranian residents, Hamdan will become the sole application for searching for life partners, as all other dating services are banned in the country.
