Criminal Case Launched Following the Murder of Contract Soldier by Enemy Forces

On July 14, 2021, around 10:30 AM, a contract soldier named Samvel Gagiki Alaverdyan sustained a gunshot wound in the left shoulder area due to shots fired by an unidentified enemy soldier in the direction of a combat position at the N military unit of the Armenian Ministry of Defense. The Investigative Committee reports that Alaverdyan died on the way to the hospital.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated in accordance with points 2, 6, and 13 of part 2 of Article 104 of the RA Criminal Code in the 8th garrison investigative department of the RA Military Investigative Committee. An investigation is underway.
