Turkish Football Players Confronted at Athens Airport

Employees at Athens Airport rejected the results of the COVID-19 PCR tests conducted by players of the Turkish Galatasaray football club in Turkey. This was reported by Ermenihaber.

The Turkish club's players had traveled to Athens to participate in a friendly match against the Greek club Olympiacos.

The Greek side demanded that the Turkish club undergo new testing; however, Galatasaray's management refused to comply. As a result, a decision was made to return to Istanbul.

The Turkish media has expressed outrage over the incident, accusing the Greek side of discrimination.

This issue was even discussed during a phone call between the foreign ministers of Turkey and Greece.
