Heads of Several Diplomatic Missions in Armenia Invited to the Foreign Ministry

During the briefing, the ambassadors were presented with notes directed to their governments, which notably emphasized that the Republic of Armenia categorically considers the visits of diplomatic representatives accredited in Azerbaijan to the occupied territories of Artsakh, including Hadrut and the historical center of Shushi, absolutely unacceptable. These areas have experienced ethnic cleansing, and war crimes and mass atrocities have been committed against the local population by the Azerbaijani armed forces.

It was stressed that Azerbaijani authorities are attempting to legitimize the aggression against the people of Artsakh through such events, reinforcing their claims about resolving the conflict through the use of force.

Throughout all meetings, it was highlighted that the involvement of diplomatic representatives in such visits contradicts the spirit of cooperation established between the Republic of Armenia and those countries, as well as the stance of the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group.

In this regard, Armenia firmly calls for refraining from any actions that could justify the use of force and thereby undermine regional peace and security. The use of force and mass atrocities cannot resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which can only be settled through negotiations within the framework of the single format endorsed by the international mandate—namely, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia has also initiated steps to convey the Republic of Armenia’s position to the respective capitals of those countries that have accredited their diplomatic missions in Armenia on a joint basis.
