Greek Community in Greece Strongly Criticizes Visit of Greek Ambassador to Shushi, Azerbaijan

The Greek community in Greece has sent a note of protest to Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias regarding the visit of Greece's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Nikolaos Piperigos, to the historically and demographically Armenian region of Nagorno-Karabakh under Azerbaijani control. This was reported by the Greek City Times.

The Greek ambassador decided to join a propaganda tour of the territories occupied by Azerbaijan.

The Office of the Armenian Cause in Greece sent an open letter to Dendias, expressing the outrage of the Greek Armenian community. The letter stated that the community expresses its astonishment and concern about the Greek ambassador's participation in a provocative celebration organized by Aliyev in the captured Armenian city of Shushi, and sought to understand whether the celebration was honoring the actions filled with hatred by Azerbaijan in invading the sovereign territory of Armenia, or paying tribute to a dictator who is illegally holding Armenian prisoners of war and civilians.
