Another 8 Remains Discovered in Occupied Territories of Artsakh Over the Week
From July 5 to July 11, 2021, the emergency hotline 911 of the Artsakh Ministry of Emergency Situations received 717 calls. This information was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Artsakh.
“Compared to the previous week, the number of fire calls has decreased. Out of the 21 registered calls, 1 was for a fire in transport, 9 in dry grass areas and gardens, while other cases occurred in gardens and uncultivated areas neighboring cultivated fields. Firefighters responded to all calls in a timely manner and carried out firefighting operations,” the statement said.
During the week, only one call was recorded regarding a traffic accident. The incident took place in the Askeran region, resulting in injuries to 2 civilians. Rescuers and paramedics from the emergency medical services provided first aid to the injured and transported them to a medical facility.
Throughout the week, operations continued to discover and neutralize weapons, munitions, unexploded ordnance, and other hazardous military ammunition. Rescue service sappers neutralized three BM-21 type rockets, six 125 mm artillery shells, two 152 mm shells, 22 anti-tank mine fuses, four landmines, and two cluster and fragmentation bombs.
In total, 38 calls of a domestic nature were registered. Rescuers provided technical assistance to 30 civilians during the week. Water was supplied to the residents of 2 communities in the Askeran region. There were 9 calls regarding the opening of doors and elevators.
To search for the remains of fallen soldiers, operational groups of the rapid response special unit conducted 4 missions during the specified period. Another 8 remains were discovered in the occupied territories of Artsakh over the week. In total, since the ceasefire, rescuers have evacuated 1,604 remains,” the summary report by the Ministry of Emergency Situations stated.
