In London, fans attempted to break through police barriers to reach Wembley Stadium, where the Euro 2020 match between England and Italy was set to take place. According to stadium administration, none of them had tickets, and ultimately, no one was able to gain access to the venue.

Thanks to their victory over England in the Euro 2020 final (1-1, 3-2 on penalties), the Italian national team extended its unbeaten streak to 34 matches, setting a new national record. To equal the world record, the Italians need one more unbeaten game. The Spain national team went without a loss in 35 consecutive matches from 2007 to 2009. Brazil also achieved this record between 1993 and 1996.
