Nearly Fifty People Killed by Lightning Strikes in India

In the northern Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, 49 people have been killed due to lightning strikes. According to the Times of India, 30 fatalities were reported in Uttar Pradesh while 19 occurred in Rajasthan.

Notably, 11 individuals lost their lives in Jaipur, Rajasthan, when they were taking photographs on top of the 12th-century Amber Fort's watchtower at the time of the lightning strike.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Twitter that the families of the deceased and those injured will receive financial assistance.
