EU Extends Sanctions Against Russia

The European Union has once again extended its economic sanctions against Russia for another six months. This was stated in a declaration issued by the EU Council.

"The EU Council has made a decision today to extend the sanctions targeting several sectors of the Russian economy for an additional six months, until January 31, 2022," the declaration states.

The EU Council reminded that these sanctions were imposed in 2014 in response to actions that destabilize the situation in eastern Ukraine.
