Armenian Man Severed Foot After Landmine Explosion in Martuni, Artsakh
An Armenian man lost his foot due to a landmine explosion in the Martuni region of Artsakh, which is presently under Azerbaijani occupation. This information was provided by a source from Sputnik Armenia in Stepanakert.
According to the source, the incident occurred during a search for the bodies of casualties in the Martuni area. When the man stepped on the landmine, representatives of the Russian peacekeeping forces were the first to provide medical assistance. They administered pain relief, bandaged the wound, controlled the bleeding, and disinfected the injury.
Afterwards, the Russian military escorted the Armenian vehicle first to the Martuni hospital and then to Stepanakert, where the man underwent surgery. He lost his foot as a result of the explosion. The man remains hospitalized, and his condition is stable.
It is worth noting that earlier, Azerbaijani media reported on this incident, stating that it took place in the Khojavend (Martuni) region and that the man was given first aid by Azerbaijani military personnel.
