The Constitutional Court Continues to Hear the Appeal to Nullify Election Results for the Third Day

The Constitutional Court is continuing to review the complaint filed by the "Armenia" alliance, the "Honorable Way" alliance, the "Awakening" party, and the "Homeland of Armenians" party, demanding the annulment of the CEC's decision from June 27, today marking the third day of hearings.

All nine judges of the Constitutional Court are present at the session. The respondents include the CEC, the Prosecutor's Office, the police, and the RA Anti-Corruption Committee. The third party involved is the "Civil Contract" party.

It is noteworthy that during the first two days, Constitutional Court judge Hrayr Tovmasyan submitted motions twice to summon President Armen Sarkissian as a witness, to provide comments regarding the designation of the election date, June 20; however, these motions were rejected.

As reported earlier, the "Armenia" alliance is challenging the constitutionality and legality of the decision following the elections, as well as the existing factual circumstances. The statement is quite extensive and contains written and video materials. The analysis is based on the results from 109 polling stations and concerns approximately 88,000 votes, of which 4,000 lack signatures.

Representatives of the alliance have found registers at 30-40 polling stations containing duplicate pages with the names of voters.

We would like to remind that the press secretary of the Constitutional Court, Eva Tovmasyan, posted on Facebook that the Court will operate in an emergency mode if necessary. “If needed, the session will continue until 24:00,” she wrote.
