Use of Single-Use Plastic Utensils Banned in the EU

On July 3, a law banning the use of single-use plastic utensils came into effect across the EU. Specifically, the ban includes cotton swabs, plastic tableware, plastic plates, straws and stirrers for beverages, plastic balloon sticks, and certain polystyrene products, such as cups and containers intended for food and drinks.

There are now more environmentally friendly alternatives available for all these products.
