Murder in Downtown Yerevan: Two Young Men Transferred to Hospital Near Ani Hotel, One Dies
A murder and attempted murder occurred in downtown Yerevan today. Around 2:00 AM, the "06" group of Yerevan's emergency medical services received a call to the central police department reporting that two individuals had been transported to the number 1 university hospital in a state of stab wounds.
According to Shamshyan.com, medical professionals at the hospital informed the police and investigators that the victims were unable to provide explanations about the incident, and shortly after, the hospital reported that one of the injured had passed away without regaining consciousness.
Police and investigators determined that the individuals transported to the hospital were 23-year-oldareg Khalatyan from Yerevan, who died with diagnoses including "torn lower intestine, damage to the large intestine, damage to the small intestine, hematoma, and hemorrhagic shock," and 21-year-old Arman Poghosyan from the Republic of Artsakh, who was admitted with diagnoses of "damage to the internal thoracic artery, lung damage" and is currently in critical condition.
Authorities also found that a dispute occurred around 1:00 AM on the same day near the Ani hotel complex at 19 Sayat-Nova Avenue between the mentioned individuals and an unidentified assailant, who attacked them with a sharp cutting and stabbing object.
