Details Emerge on Murder near Ani Hotel Involving Future NSS Employees

Details have emerged regarding the murder that occurred near the Ani Hotel. Specifically, the deceased and the injured were studying at the National Security Agency in Leningrad and had recently moved to Armenia with the intention of working for the NSS. According to reports, they were set to begin their employment within the NSS in about a week.

Furthermore, as per information obtained by ArmLur.am, law enforcement is currently searching for a BMW vehicle that, according to preliminary theories, the perpetrator fled the scene in.

It should be noted that shmashyan.com reported that on July 10, a murder and attempted murder occurred in the center of Yerevan. Around 2:00 AM, the 1-03 emergency medical team received a call to the police central department, stating that two individuals had been admitted to the number 1 hospital in a state of knife wounds.

At the hospital, doctors informed the police and investigators that the injured individuals were unable to provide any explanations about the incident. Shortly thereafter, the hospital reported that one of the injured had died without regaining consciousness.

Police and investigators identified the hospitalized individuals as 23-year-old Arek Khalatyan, a resident of Yerevan, who was transported with a diagnosis of "transverse laceration of the lower sinuses, damage to the large intestine, damage to the small intestines, hematoma, and hemorrhagic shock" and who has since died. The other injured party is 21-year-old Arman Poghosyan, a resident of the Republic of Artsakh, who was admitted with a diagnosis of "internal thoracic artery damage, lung damage" and is currently in extremely critical condition.

Investigators have also determined that on the same day, around 1:00 AM, a conflict occurred between the aforementioned individuals and an unidentified person near the Ani hotel complex located at 19 Sayat-Nova Avenue, during which the assailant attacked them with a sharp cutting object.

A criminal case has been initiated in the Investigative Department of the Central and Norq Marash administrative districts under the provisions of Article 104, Part 1, and Article 34-104, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.

The police and the investigative department are undertaking the necessary operational, investigative, and joint actions to uncover the crime, ascertain the complete details of the participants in the conflict, and locate them and the instrument of the crime.
