The Authorities Are Only Busy Closing and Destroying State and National Structures and Projects: Tonoyan

Leader of the "5165" movement, Karin Tonoyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "From defeat to victory… and in between, an uncertain present…… What do we have now, outside the psychology and status of a defeated individual during this interim before victory? Pain – humiliation – impossibility and helplessness…… And the unknown of tomorrow’s fate and disbelief has turned people indifferent, living day by day, regarding national values with contempt……

For already eight months, the ghosts of war, defeat, betrayal, and irreversibility have been haunting Armenia, and the tearing continues between faith and disbelief, doubt and certainty, the humiliating feelings of being defeated or betrayed, meaningfulness and meaninglessness, between loss and salvation, the struggle to endure pain and the obligation to live…………. And life goes on, and we are condemned to live….. we are condemned to uplift the Armenian and Armenia from this pain and to keep it alive….. Armenia must free itself from opportunists, traitors, and stateless entities and must be built into a real, self-confident, and self-respecting, strong Armenia…… and that is the only price for which we sacrificed the lives of our 5000 children, it is the only medicine and remedy that will heal the wounded souls of millions of Armenians, it is the support upon which we must rely to restore our crippled pride….. honor and dignity.

But who will build that Armenia? At this moment, we have a government that, unfortunately, has been occupied since the very first day of its rule only with closing and destroying state and national structures and projects….. In the soon-to-be-formed National Assembly, both the opposition and the ruling party will be working more for the legitimacy of their continued existence and it is unlikely they will be able to bring significant change to this country facing "difficult and acute" decision-making in such a drastic situation…..
