Russia Could Be Considered a Leader in the Fight Against Coronavirus If the Entire Population Is Vaccinated, Says Anna Popova
Anna Popova, the head of Russia's Rospotrebnadzor agency, has stated that it is necessary for the entire population of Russia to be vaccinated against coronavirus in order for the country to be considered a leader in the fight against the virus.
"I believe we need to take several steps to vaccinate the entire population before we can claim the status of a country with the most advanced experience in combating coronavirus. Currently, only 0.7 percent of Russians have received complete vaccination," she noted.
As of July 8, Russia has recorded 24,818 cases of coronavirus infection. A total of 21,336 individuals have recovered, while the death toll stands at 734.
