In Armavir, a Man Tried to Strangle His Wife with a Phone Cable Due to Jealousy
The investigation into an attempted murder case motivated by jealousy has been completed at the Armavir regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee, as reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
According to the evidence gathered, it has been established that a 1972-born resident of Armavir city had been in a close relationship with a resident of the same city since 1994. The investigation indicates that the man, suspecting that his partner might have intimate relations with another man, went near her house on March 1, 2021, around 10:00 AM to dispel his doubts.
When she returned, the man, taking advantage of the unlocked door, entered the yard behind her, opened the entrance door, and illegally entered the house unnoticed, hiding in the bedroom. He then approached his partner, who was lying half-reclined on the couch in the living room, and attempted to kill her by strangling her with a phone cable out of jealousy. The woman lost consciousness, and the man, believing she was dead, stopped his actions, leaving the crime unfinished due to circumstances beyond his control.
Based on the combination of sufficient evidence, charges were brought against the resident of Armavir under Part 1 of Article 34-104 and Article 147 of the RA Criminal Code, and he was placed under arrest as a measure of restraint. The investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been forwarded to the court with an accusatory conclusion.
Notice: The person suspected or accused of the alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia, by a legally binding court verdict.
