Foreign Ministry - A Complex Circle. The Search for Ministerial Candidates Remains Unfinished
The newspaper "Hraparak" writes that the most complex aspect of forming the government is the question of the Foreign Minister's position. According to certain information, the authorities are struggling to find a suitable candidate. The issue is that this candidate needs to be agreed upon with Russia, which is why Prime Minister Pashinyan's initial decision to appoint Ruben Rubinyan as Foreign Minister was cancelled.
The authorities are in such a tight spot that they are even discussing appointing former Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan to this position, which Russia does not oppose, but Pashinyan is hesitating. After such an appointment, how would he justify to the public why the defeat in the war was placed on the army and on Davit Tonoyan, who was dismissed from his position?
Pashinyan is more inclined to appoint Ararat Mirzoyan to this position, but Mirzoyan is against it. Conversely, it is almost certain that one of the Deputy Foreign Ministers will be former Minister of Diaspora Makitar Hayrapetyan, who was not included in the ruling party’s list for the parliamentary seats because he wants to work in the executive branch. Of course, his dream is to become the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, but Dumanyan will remain in that position by Pashinyan's decision. Hayrapetyan will coordinate the diaspora at the Foreign Ministry, and it is highly likely that the diaspora office will be closed.
