Administrative Court of Appeal Upholds Appeal in Amulsar Case
The Administrative Court of Appeal of Armenia has fully granted the appeal filed by attorney Nazeli Vardanyan representing 19 residents of Jermuk and Gndevaz communities in Vayots Dzor Province regarding the Amulsar case, according to a statement from the EcoLur informational NGO.
It is noteworthy that the plaintiffs submitted a lawsuit to the Administrative Court on October 4, 2018, against the Minister of Environment of Armenia, demanding to obligate the Minister to invalidate the state expertise conclusion HPE-35 regarding the modified project for mining operations at the Amulsar quartzite gold deposit and the Minister's approval of this conclusion dated April 29, 2016. The Administrative Court had previously rejected the lawsuit of the 19 residents of Jermuk and Gndevaz on November 14, 2019, which was subsequently appealed to the Administrative Court of Appeal.
