Those Left in the Sidelines: What Awaits the Government MPs
In the newly elected parliamentary majority, there are individuals who have found themselves sidelined and are unaware of their future prospects. According to the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, discussions are currently underway regarding the future of the Speaker of the Parliament, Ararat Mirzoyan.
The fact is that the position of Speaker will be handed over to the Deputy Speaker Alen Simonyan. It seems that Prime Minister Pashinyan did not perceive Mirzoyan as his loyal ally. He is neither seen in the legislative nor in the executive branch. Mirzoyan must either reconcile with his status as a parliamentary mandate holder or assume a position outside the country.
Our sources indicate that Mirzoyan is also unaware of what fate awaits him and is quietly waiting. The thing is, Mirzoyan bears the mark of a traitor. The document published by Mikael Minasian regarding being an NSS agent has significantly impacted Mirzoyan's political career.
In a similar state of uncertainty is the Deputy Speaker Lena Nazaryan, who is reportedly not welcomed again in the deputy speaker's role. Additionally, L. Nazaryan's husband, Narek Babayan, who unexpectedly lost his position as the head of the Real Estate Office, is number 71 on the electoral list of the QP and has become a deputy. This means that two family members from Nazaryan's family have become MPs, which is not accepted within the team. One of them will be forced to give up their parliamentary mandate.
An unclear fate also awaits the secretary of the “My Step” faction, Hakob Simidyan. They do not wish to grant him the position of faction secretary either. Simidyan is number 74 on the QP electoral list, and it is possible that he will also be forced to resign from his mandate. In any case, Nikol Pashinyan does not promise him any position, and the fate of the faction secretary remains hanging in the air.
