750 Citizens Killed in Artsakh, 83 Considered Missing: Artsakh Ombudsman
Artsakh Ombudsman Gegham Stepanyan has released data regarding the casualties from Azerbaijani aggression. He noted, "In response to inquiries directed at me, I am publishing data concerning individuals who are citizens of the Republic of Artsakh and have been killed, missing, captured, or returned from captivity due to Azerbaijani aggression.
According to data obtained from the fact-finding efforts initiated by the Ombudsman of Artsakh in September 2020, the number of citizens killed as a result of the Azerbaijani aggression has reached 750, of which 81 are civilians. This includes 42 individuals killed as a result of long-range attacks from Azerbaijani armed forces, including missile strikes, shelling, aerial bombardments, and gunfire from diversionary groups. Additionally, 39 individuals were killed due to physical violence, stabbings, beheadings, and close-range gunfire while under Azerbaijani captivity or control.
The number of fallen soldiers includes those whose data has been forwarded to the Soldiers' Insurance Fund. A total of 163 civilians have been injured, although the exact number of injured soldiers is currently unavailable.
According to confirmed data, 83 individuals from the Republic of Artsakh are considered missing, including 23 civilians. Among the 103 individuals who have been captured and subsequently returned, 23 are citizens of the Republic of Artsakh."
