Of Course, a 'Small' Detail Has Been Overlooked: Armenia Alliance Representative Aram Vardevanyan

The source of interpreting the electoral code’s provisions and supposedly a means to refute us for the Civil Contract party is a quote taken out of context from Davit Harutyunyan, whereas they have consistently countered Davit Harutyunyan’s comments on other matters. This was noted by Aram Vardevanyan, a representative of the Armenia Alliance, on his Facebook page, in response to the Civil Contract’s position presented to the Constitutional Court.

He particularly stated: “I am reviewing the position submitted to the Constitutional Court by the Civil Contract party. I want to inform you that this party consistently refers to former decisions regarding electoral disputes by the Constitutional Court. Those very decisions, regarding which they had said 'anything and everything' concerning the reputation of the Constitutional Court.”

“Of course, they have overlooked the 'small' detail that the new law on the Constitutional Court came into force in January 2018, while those decisions were adopted within the framework of the old law on the Constitutional Court with a completely different procedure. However, we must approach this with understanding, after all, the acting Minister of Justice has other responsibilities besides representing that party in the Constitutional Court.”

“By the way, the source of interpretation of the electoral code’s provisions and supposedly a means to refute us is a quote taken out of context from Davit Harutyunyan, despite the fact that they have consistently countered his interpretations in other matters. Constitutional justice is an interesting means of revelation.”
