Emergency Incident in Ararat Province: Human Skulls and Bones Found Near Azat Reservoir

On July 7, an emergency incident occurred in the Ararat Province. At around 19:20, the operational management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call indicating that there was a body in the Azat reservoir and that the help of rescuers was needed to retrieve it.

According to shamshyan.com, an operational group from the Ararat Regional Rescue Department and the regional crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the scene. Rescuers and police worked throughout the night, later joined by divers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, conducting search operations. However, due to darkness and adverse weather conditions, the operations were suspended past midnight. They resumed today, July 8.

During their work in and around the reservoir area, rescuers and police discovered a large number of human skulls and bones. Preliminary reports suggest that these remains surfaced as a result of a collapse in nearby old cemeteries due to rising water levels, exposing the remains in an open area.
